The Faculty of Sport Science at Ruhr-Universität Bochum invites applications for the position of a tenured professor in Sports Management / Sports Economics

W2-Professorship in Sports Management / Sports Economics

to start on October 1st 2017.

The successful candidate will teach courses and conduct research in the fields of sports management and sports economics. The applicant should have established a recognized research agenda in the fields of sports management and/or sports economics. The candidate is expected to cooperate in an interdisciplinary manner with the representatives of the other fields at the Faculty of Sport Science and of other disciplines at RUB (e.g. economic sciences). The applicant is expected to teach all aspects of the Bachelor program in sports management and to contribute actively to the profile Sports Consulting in the Master of Sports Science. Additionally, the applicant is desired to promote further development of the mentioned programs. As teaching is mainly conducted in German, sufficient German language skills or the willingness to learn German within a period of three years are required.

Prerequisites for the position are a university degree in sports management / sports economics or economic sciences, a doctoral degree, a habilitation or equivalent academic achievement, and a strong publication record in the fields of sports management / sports economics. Successful candidates should be internationally recognized and are expected to establish and to maintain a third-party funded research program. Demonstrated pedagogical aptitude is as much required as the willingness to participate in the self-governing bodies of RUB.
